Lexington, Ky. (Nov. 27, 2018) – Crews from Water Quality and Streets & Roads are treating any problem areas on roadways the current precipitation may cause. Temperatures are well within the effective treatment range for rock salt. Conditions will be monitored in real-time with treatment as needed for the duration of precipitation.
Since 7 a.m. Lexington Police have responded to 15 non-injury collisions, 4 motorist assists, and 6 traffic hazards.
Todds Road between Polo Club and Hays Boulevard was closed to traffic for about an hour this morning due to icy conditions and several collisions. It reopened at 9 a.m.
Residents can get information on accidents, lane blockages, snow-and-ice trouble spots and road closures through the city’s Twitter accounts (@lexwrecks and @lexkypolice). They can also view traffic at major intersection in real time through the city’s traffic cameras at lexingtonky.gov/traffic.
